On a recent morning beach walk, I happened upon this bit of seaweed that had snagged on a driftwood log and frozen overnight. A few minutes later the rising sun had melted most of the frost away.

Like a sea dragon.Lovely. Is it still cold there?
Thanks! No, it’s turned mild and wet.
Just like here then – though bit cooler today:)
I like the weathered wood too.
Thanks, Laura — so did I.
I love the warm colors and the textures. The vertical striations create a really interesting effect.
Thanks, Elizabeth!
What a great find! It reminds me of one of the Chinese New Year dragons – that must be coming up soon.
Thanks! Yes, I can see a dragon in there.
Frost is so beautiful and old wood are a great “background” to this image. I agree with “Murtagh’s” above, it does look like a dragon.
Thank you, Lena!
Awesome combination of textures, patterns, and hues! 🙂
Thanks, Tom!
A beautiful record of a brief moment. You have to snap when you can or else! That’s especially true of frost and snow. Glad you caught this one. Still waiting for snow here and it looks to be quite a wait. 😦

Thank you, Janet! Yes, I’ve been burned too many times not taking the shot right when I see it. Things can change so fast.
I know that feeling!
Wonderful capture and I like the contrast of the seaweed and driftwood!
Thank you!
Fantastic capture of a fleeting moment, Karen.
Thank you, Jane.
