Yesterday morning I took this shot of two sailboats crossing paths as they headed out for the day. Normally at this time of year the sky would be clear, but we’ve had quite a bit of cloudy, showery weather lately and it feels like summer hasn’t really started yet.
In some ways it’s good: I haven’t had to hand-water our new garden plants as much, the grass is still pretty green, and the fire hazard for the island is rated as “moderate” as opposed to “high” or “extreme”. Still, I bet island visitors would appreciate a few hot sunny days. Maybe come August?
I’ve been enjoying our first cool summer in quite some time because I hate the heat. But all the clouds have been putting a bit of a damper on photography.
It’s only partly cloudy here today with the sun peeking through every now and again. Pleasant!
A lovely calm scene. We too are having another wet, cool summer. We have two weeks of heat and now it’s more like late spring weather as opposed to summer!
Thank you! Yes, it’s more like late spring here as well.
I love all those variations in blue. If it was sheet music I wonder what it would sound like? It’s more than simplicity, there is a deeper rhythm in the photo. Well done.
Thank you!
I love the differing shades of blue. It is very peaceful.
Thank you, Laura!
Very nice! š
We used to sail a lot when we were younger! Green energy too!!!
Thanks, Tom!
I love the blues, too, Karen.

Thanks, Janet!
Love the shades of blue here … lovely. I’m hearing the same complaint from the Pacific Northwest: summer hasn’t begun yet! Hopefully you’ll get some warmer weather. : )
Thanks! I’m not minding the cooler weather lately, I’d rather have that than extreme heat.
Beautiful pictures! Loving your blog so much!
Thanks, very kind of you!
