change of season

At the ferry terminal this morning, a long lineup of cars filled with departing visitors signals the end of summer. Cooler temperatures, cloudy skies, and empty trails and beaches ahead.

Don’t you love the end of the season? When I drove into town this morning, after 2 weeks away, I noticed a marked difference in traffic. After Labor Day, the town is ours again. It’ll pick up again in a few weeks for Foliage Season, but then it’s empty streets and quiet. Just the way I like it. : ) Beautiful photos, as always!
