rock-a-bye

Sometimes when I’m out early in the morning, I’ll see a few bumblebees sleeping on the daisies.

I’ve read that male bumblebees don’t always return to the hive at night, instead finding a resting place in a bush or on a flower, where they remain until the sun warms them up the next morning. A couple of minutes after I took this picture, the sleepy bee stirred, did a few calisthenics, and then flew off.

Great photo, I realized that too just recently. I found bumblebees sitting under some flowers by the ocean when I was to se the sunrise one morning last week. I had no idea about this earlier.
