Miniature alien worlds discovered (in my back yard)!

Edit: I found out that these lichen are rather charmingly known as Pixie Cups. Even the scientific name, Cladonia pyxidata, is cute.

Love the colors and crazy shapes. Sometimes you don’t have to go far to find something to capture your curiosity. Just look down and close.
