One of the things I want to try this year is art journaling, and this would make an awesome background! Would you mind if I used your photo in that way? Love it!

Thanks! For this one, I had a shutter speed of about a second, and I panned the camera vertically as I took the shot.

I find I get good results with a shutter speed of about 1/2 to 3 seconds. The shorter the shutter speed, the faster you have to move the camera. To get the desired shutter speed, it helps to set a small aperture, but you may also need to use an ND and/or polarizing filter depending on how bright it is.

Experiment with different types of movements. You can pan your camera, jiggle it, rotate it, zoom your lens, etc. Take lots of shots, and be prepared to delete most of them. For me anyway, the keeper rate is very low. I hope you try this – I would love to see your results.
