This photo was inspired by the works of Toni Onley (1928 – 2004), an artist especially well-known for his watercolours depicting the subtle tones and soft light of Canada’s west coast.
Mr. Onley died in a plane crash in 2004, but his legacy lives on in prominent galleries around the world, including the Tate Gallery in London and the National Gallery of Canada.
I’ve just spent the past half hour looking at Mr Onley’s website and you’re right – this photo does capture the soft, pastel feeling of his beautiful watercolors. I was unfamiliar with his work so thank you for sharing this!
I’m glad you checked him out – he has a very distinctive style, don’t you think?
I like the colors in your photo. I am definitely going to visit Toni Onley’s website. Thanks.
Thanks very much!
